Product COVERAGE · DETECTION · ACCURACY
  • How accurate is your hail detection?
We fuse the national dual-polarization Doppler radar network through our real-time multi-radar/multi-sensor fusion engine and our own ML scorer (Anvil) trained on 5+ years of verified ground-truth storm reports. The result is address-level resolution — typically a single 0.01° grid cell, roughly a city block — instead of a county-wide swath. Detections trail the storm by under two minutes, and every cell carries a probability so you can act on confidence rather than a binary alert.
  • What does an alert actually cover?
Alerts are scoped to the location you monitor — a home address, a dealership lot, an insured property, a job site. We resolve hail to the grid cell over that location, send the alert (push, SMS, email, or webhook), and back it with a verifiable record: timestamp, estimated size, radar evidence, and confidence score. You can configure thresholds, quiet hours, and escalation per location.
  • How is the personal app different from the business platform?
The personal app is for protecting your home, vehicles, and outdoor plans — one or a handful of saved locations, push alerts, and historical context for your address. The business platform adds multi-location monitoring (unlimited), team-based alert routing, the REST API + webhooks, historical query at scale, and procurement-grade controls (SSO, audit logs, custom DPA). Same intelligence layer; different surface.
  • Where do you have coverage?
The contiguous United States (CONUS) — wherever the national radar network reaches. Alaska, Hawaii, and Caribbean territories are roadmap items pending suitable radar coverage.
Pricing & plans BILLING · TRIALS · CHANGES
  • How does pricing work?
Personal: free with one saved location, or Premium at $6.99/month or $49.99/year (≈ $4.17/mo billed annually, 40% savings). Premium adds up to 3 locations, a 7-day forecast, SMS + email alerts, Follow Me GPS, AI Insights, and Playbooks. Billed by the App Store or Google Play. Business plans (Starter, Pro, Business) bill monthly or annually, with a 14-day free trial of Pro on every new account. Enterprise pricing is custom — annual contract, volume-based, with SSO, custom DPA/MSA, dedicated CSM, and SLA.
  • Can I change or cancel my plan?
Yes — upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time from the billing console. There’s no lock-in on Personal, Starter, Pro, or Business. Enterprise contracts run for the agreed term. We don’t pro-rate refunds on cancellations, but you keep access through the end of the current billing period.
  • Is there a free tier?
Yes. The personal app is free forever with one saved location — full lead time, full precision, and real-time push alerts on Anvil. Premium ($6.99/mo or $49.99/yr) unlocks multi-location, a 7-day forecast, SMS + email, Follow Me GPS, AI Insights, and Playbooks. Business has a 14-day free trial of Pro — no credit card required to start.
Security & privacy GCP · SOC 2 · CCPA · STATE LAWS
  • How do you handle privacy and personal data?
We collect the minimum needed to deliver alerts and operate the service. Locations are processed in-memory rather than stored as raw coordinates; account data is pseudonymized via Firebase UIDs; we don’t sell data, run ad networks, or share with brokers. We comply with CCPA/CPRA and the major U.S. state privacy laws (CO, CT, TX, UT, VA). See the Trust Center for the full posture.
  • Do you offer SSO?
Yes — SAML 2.0 SSO is included on the Enterprise tier, alongside SCIM provisioning, audit log export, and a custom DPA + MSA. Lower tiers use email + password with optional MFA.
  • Where is my data stored?
All data is stored and processed in U.S. regions on Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery US multi-region, Firestore nam5, primary compute in us-central1). GCP carries SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, PCI DSS, and CSA STAR — Hail Sentinel inherits those attestations for the underlying infrastructure.
